so 70's, right? I call it NIKE. In the past I have used a lot of oil and oil pastels and I almost was tempted to try oil painting on the velvet; which would really relate to the 7o's, painting on velvet. Maybe next time, I'll paint Elvis for my Mom.(not joking)
I usually use rubbing alcohol with pastel or just pure pastel, this time I tried turpentine/mineral spirits for the first time. I applied with a brush and chamoise to the final stage, third layer. I won't fix it, I think the velvet texture and mineral spirits hold the pastel. It will hang vertically. Anyways, good background to work on, I've heard it called suede and mormon board.
